Visiting Scholar Administration Fee Online Payment Form

Columbia University charges a $500 administrative fee to those requesting J-1 visa sponsorship in order to either:

1. further personal, independent research and scholarship, or

2. satisfy a practicum/internship required for a degree at their home institution, most often for those who have not yet been awarded a diploma equivalent to the US Bachelor’s degree.

This fee is separate from any U.S. government SEVIS/visa application fee.

After payment, you will receive an email from the ISSO with your Scholar Administration Fee receipt. You must forward this receipt to your academic administrator in order for the department to proceed with the visa document Form DS-2019 request.
